Statute of the scientific journal MANEKO


Article 1
Introductory provisions

The scientific journal  MANEKO  (Management and Economics of the Company) edited by the Department of Management of Chemical and Food Technologies at the Institute of Management of the Slovak University of Technology (SUT) in Bratislava is published by the Publishing House of SUT in Bratislava.


Article 2
Aims and the fields of problem-solving

The journal  MANEKO offers scientific papers, discussion contributions and the reviews of professional works dealing with the problem of  branch and sectional economics and also of the management. It presents contributions from the field of general management, knowledge economics, economics and management of small- and medium-size enterprises, economics of services, financial management, quality management, environmental management, human resource management, marketing, controlling, logistics, strategic management of companies, innovation management, information and communication technologies, etc. It enables pedagogical and scientific workers of universities to publish their scientific and professional works and, at the same time, to give the publishing opportunity also to doctoral candidates and professional workers of the company practice, public administration, etc.


Article 3
Editorial board

(1) The Editorial board is a managing body and professional guarantor of the journal MANEKO. It consists of the chairman, vice-chairman and other members of the Editorial board. The editorial board is a governing body of both the Scientific board and Editorial committee of the journal. The chairman of the editorial board is entitled to suggest and withdraw the members of the Editorial board, Scientific board and Editorial committee of the journal MANEKO. A list of members of the editorial board of the journal MANEKO is indicated in the Supplement 1 attached to this Statute.

(2) The editorial board meets minimally once before the publication of each number.

(3) The chairman of the Editorial board conducts its sessions.  The members of the Editorial board  cast a vote on approval of the final version of each number. Before printing, every number of the journal must be approved by the majority of members involved in the board, i.e. by more than a half of the votes. The same way of voting is used in the case of other suggestions.

(4) Before approving the final version of each number the members of the Editorial board must be acquainted with the opinion of the Scientific board of the journal MANEKO. The Scientific board of the journal submits its opinion ahead in the sufficient time before the session of the Editorial board.

(5) The members of the Editorial board can at any time request an expert opinion and all texts of contributions that were sent to the editorial office.

(6) The members of the Editorial board will submit a proposal for making some measures to ensure the higher journal quality.


Article 4
Scientific board

(1) The scientific board of the journal MANEKO is an executive body of the journal. A list of its members is indicated in the Supplement 2 attached to this Statute.

(2) The scientific board of the journal meets minimally once before publishing each number.

(3) The scientific board supervises and controls the professional, scientific and formal level of contributions submitted and on the basis of reviewers´ comments gives a proposal for their approval and inclusion into the journal.

(4) Before approval of the final version of each number the members taking part in the session of the Scientific board must be acquainted with the content of the respective expert reports.

(5) The members of the Scientific board can ask at any time for the texts of contributions that were sent to the editorial office.

(6) The scientific board will propose the final version of the content of each number and will submit it to the chairman of the Editorial board for its approval.


Article 5
Editorial committee of the journal

(1) An executive component of the journal MANEKO is the Editorial committee. The composition of the Editorial Committee is indicated in the Supplement 3 attached to this Statute.

(2) The Editorial committee is responsible for the formation and graphical layout of the journal.

(3) An editor who is responsible for the journal communicates with authors about the matters of authorization and layout of their contributions on the basis of requirements made in the reviewers´ reports, or he also informs them about the further necessary data which must be completed by them to publish the contribution.

(4) The editorial committee is entitled to return a contribution to the author and ask him to make the corrections in case it does not satisfy the demands for publication.

(5) An editor who is responsible for the journal will submit all accepted contributions being after the process of reviewing, and all reviewers´ reports to the chairman of the Scientific board.


Article 6
The reviewing process

(1) On sending the contribution each author will suggest the editorial office of the journal  two independent reviewers of his contribution (Professors, Associate Professors or prominent professionals in the given sphere and outside the author´s place of work).

(2) The contributions which fulfill the formal demands and their topics are in agreement with  objectives of the paper will have to be sent for an appraisal to two reviewers.

(3) The chairman of the Editorial board designates the reviewers, who will be asked for the elaboration of a written report on the submitted contribution, and stipulates the date of its returning to the author.

(4) The reviewers can use for their reports a form entitled the Reviewer´s report which is accessible on the Internet site of the journal MANEKO (Supplement 4).


Article 7
Instructions for the elaboration of contributions

(1) Authors will send their contributions formally adjusted according to instructions published on the Internet site of the journal MANEKO (Supplement 5).

(2) After submitting the contribution an author assumes the responsibility for not breaking the valid legal regulations during its publishing, especially in the sphere of the copyright law.

(3) The contributions which were not asked for will not be returned to authors.

(4) For the style and grammatical rules of the language are responsible authors.

(5) Authors will send their contributions in the requested form to the following address of the editorial office: Slovak University of Technology, Department of Management of Chemical and Food Technologies of the Institute of Management, Vazovova 5, 812 43 Bratislava.

(6) The deadline for receiving the contributions published in the respective number will be at disposal on the Internet sites of the journal.


Article 8
Financing of the journal

(1) Contributions are unpaid.

(2) The journal is financed from the budget of the Institute of Management at the Slovak University of Technology and from other sources (grants, advertising, endowments, funds, projects).

(3) After finishing the reviewing process and after pronouncing the decision to accept the contribution for its publication the editorial office reserves the privilege to ask from the author his participation in expenditures associated with the realization of a printed form of the journal in the amount stipulated in advance.
